The United Nations will hold a Climate Summit in late September in NYC. We plan to hold our own climate summit in HK, as an echo event, by inviting environmental activists across the campuses in HK to meet in Admiralty to explore the potential for collective action on climate change. How can we assure that HK meets its commitments for carbon reduction made in the Paris Accords in 2015? We said we’d reduce carbon by 20% by 2020. Will we do it? Who is responsible to achieve this target? Let’s do our bit in the coming year!

We will meet on Saturday, October 12 from 10am – 4pm in the spacious offices of the Deloitte firm in Pacific Place. Green groups from all universities and colleges in HK are invited to send representatives and share their ideas for grassroots activities. Individual participants are also welcome. Many self-organizing break-out groups will focus on a broad array of climate topics. Come to the climate summit in HK, meet your counterparts across the campuses, and explore pathways for collective action to turn HK green! We support the YOUNGO, a global youth movement for climate action under SDG 13 (Climate Action).
