The HKAC organizes “moving seminars” in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta for groups of American university students. We show the expertise of our member HK universities in interpreting the dynamic region of south China to American academics and their students. We emphasize experiential learning during a travel circuit that usually includes HK, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, West PRD (Wu-yi), Zhuhai and Macau. 


Chinese Fine Arts of  St Olaf College of Minnesota at the CUHK

St Olaf College sent 30 students to HK via the HKAC to study the classical traditions of fine arts in China. The Fine Arts Department of CUHK organized their month-long academic program

Economic and Environmental Change in HK and the Pearl River Delta  Calvin College Michigan

The HKAC organized a three-week study tour of HK and the Pearl River Delta in January 2012 for Calvin College in western Michigan. They toured HK, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Macao before returning to HK for final reflections on the theme of economic development and environmental impact in the reform era of the PRD.


Comparing the Pearl River and Yangtze River Deltas

The International Exchange of Students (IES) organizes study programs at Fudan University in Shanghai for American students each year. The HKAC hosts their students in HK each year for a week for an enrichment seminar on HK and the PRD. They compared the development of the PRD with the Yangtze River Delta they know from their study in Shanghai. This year their highlight was to join the Hong Kong 2020 simulation at Kadoorie and meet many local students debating HK’s future.
